This may have been our most enthusiastic Campaign Kick-Off event ever. Ron Wiley’s ongoing message of mahalo – for the Board & staff of Kauai United Way, the critical work of our Partner Agencies and, most of all, for the thousands of people who understand the immense value of what KUW does and do their part to donate – really set the tone.
Mayor Carvalho mentioned his appreciation for the many contributions to Kauai made by organizations funded by KUW.
The moving, personal talk of Kimberly Matutina touched every heart with her story of how the Boys & Girl Clubs literally saved her life.
The simultaneous Facebook Live sure energized the crowd.
My own message was less exciting but still important: people need to understand the vast reach of Kauai United Way, the 80+ social service programs funded, the lives saved every day, the tens of thousands of Kauai people benefitted every year before they understand it is in all our interests to donate.
What an awesome way to kick-off the 2017 Annual Campaign, driving to reach our $650,000 goal!
