YMCA OF KAUAI - Ohana Facility Celebrates First Birthday »»

It was the strong support of Kauai United Way and many other caring individuals and businesses that made the first community YMCA facility on Kauai ? which celebrated its first anniversary in July ? a reality.

The new Kauai Ohana YMCA Facility is located in Lihue next to Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School and features Kauai's only Olympic Swimming Pool, a Keiki Teaching Pool, Fitness Center and Locker Rooms. The YMCA offers the community a wide variety of family oriented aquatic activities including Family Recreation, Swimming Lessons, Water Polo, Springboard Diving, Swim Kauai Age Group Swimming, Masters Swimming, High School and Age Group Swimming Meets, Water Exercise Classes, Special Olympics and Lifeguard Certification. Other YMCA programs and services on Kauai include Camp Naue, Lihue Teen Center, Hawaii Surfing Federation, Kauai Surfing Association Summer Festival, Kauai All-Girls Rodeo, Hoe Wa'a Paddler Club Races, Roller Hockey, Annual Youth Run, East Kauai Y's Mens Club, Kauai Rodeo Club, Kauai Body Boarding Association, Kauai Challenge Volleyball Invitational, North Shore Dance Club, Pine Trees Long Board Contest, Iron Brothers Surf Contest, America West Barrel Racing, Save of Seas Activities, Kauai Ranch Rodeo, Hanalei Bay Annual Swim, Kauai Ocean Recreation Experience, Comancheros 4-H Youth Club, Kina'ole Volleyball Club, and the Nawiliwili Sailing Program. Not one of these wonderful community programs and services would be available today without the continued help of Kauai United Way.
