Great news ? renowned chef and restauranteur, award-winning Peter Merriman, will soon be opening his first restaurant on Kauai in the newly built Kukui`ula Village in Poipu: Merriman?s Kauai. At a time when jobs are scarce, this is sure to be a boost to the Kauai economy. Peter further vows to benefit our community by using 90% local products in all his dishes, providing a big help to Kauai?s farmers.

But wait, it gets better: Peter has chosen Kauai United Way to be the beneficiary of the proceeds from his grand opening, the evening of Friday October 23. Executive chef Philip Wang will be preparing a very special menu for the occasion (details to follow later!) Best of all, 100% of the $50 per person price to attend this wonderful event will be donated to support the critical social service work of Kauai United Way?s many, fine Participating Agencies.
